This article features Hive CEO & Founder, Byron Slosar, and discusses the impact of the Hive platform on next-gen talent in the past two years.

“Slosar’s intent was to ‘build a platform that’s designed for students and recent graduates rather than for companies.’ As a result the platform has several unique features. For starters, students are encouraged to sign up when they are freshmen or sophomores so they have the chance to learn what it takes to be successful in the job market and to ‘build their imagination’ and career-relevant experiences. Hive treats early engagement the way internships and jobs have traditionally been treated for college students.”

This year, she's graduating from @tulaneu and has landed a sweet full-time position at @accenture Federal Services as a Strategy and Consulting Analyst. 🍯 Here's what she had to say about her new role, navigating her career journey as a first-gen student, and how Hive has helped her along the way:

"It has been a dream to work in federal policy but was initiated by the world of government consulting, especially as a person who is underrepresented in this sector. Every experience I have had with an AFS team member has been so welcoming and focused on uplifting candidates and employees (which is hard to come by at their competitors)! I am so excited to be a part of a team committed to innovation and excellence for our federal clients. As a first-generation and low-income college student, it can feel like the job search is inherently designed to work against you, and that opportunities are made to be inaccessible as possible. "I am excited to be joining my new team because I have loved speaking to everyone on the team, and they are all very supportive. Also, I know I will be given many new opportunities to learn in GCM.
